Antares is the name of the hill above Vittorio Veneto, commonly known “Monte Altare”, which in ancient

times was sacred place for pagan rituals for fertility and divination, as attested by many archeological

records from roman and pre-roman times. The rituals had strong ties with astronomy, Antares is the name

of the star that aligns with the ridge of the mountain at the sunset of the winter solstice.
